Pleasure is a false god. Research shows that people who focus their energy on superficial pleasures end up more anxious, more emotionally unstable, and more depressed. Pleasure is the most superficial form of life satisfaction and therefore the easiest to obtain and the easiest to lose.
It is not the cause of happiness, but it is the effect. It means if everything else is right, pleasure will come by itself as a by-product.
In fact, real pleasure is usually found in Pain.
One of the most beautiful day ever in my life, was when I just finished Paris' Marathon. I cried of joy, though it was really painful.
