Doug is about to get married. His friends, professor Phil Wenneck and dentist Stu Price, and Doug's future brother-in-law Alan, decide to take him to Las Vegas for a bachelor party.
Once there, they book a suite at Caesars Palace and drink on the rooftop, admiring the city at night. The next morning, Alan, Phil and Stu wake up with no memory of the night before. Doug is gone, Stu has lost a tooth, there's a tiger in the bathroom, and a baby is hiding in a closet.
I'm not usually a fan of comedies. Simply because there are very few good comedies. Well, The Hangover is in the minority of excellent comedies.
The concept is brilliant: 3 friends wake up after a night of drinking and can't remember a thing. In the process, they realize that a 4th friend is missing, the one who's due at his wedding in a few hours. The whole film is built around this, and we gradually discover what happened on that crazy night.
The actors aren't exactly household names, but they're very good and play their characters perfectly. In fact, these characters could easily have become clichés: the handsome guy, the emasculated dentist, the sociopathic redneck... But the group is endearingly relatable, and we're treated to some wildly improbable scenes (Mike Tyson lisping Phil Collins, a tiger high on GHB).
In short, there's not much to say. This is a comedy like no other, to be consumed without moderation.
I recommend this comedy, if there's one to see it's this one which, as I said, is in the minority of excellent comedies.
