For her thesis on Alzheimer's disease, Mia Medina films Deborah Logan, who has the disease, and her daughter who takes care of her.
Soon, strange things start to happen: Deborah wakes up at night and performs strange rituals. Little by little, the team comes to wonder if Alzheimer is really responsible for these events or if an evil spirit is the cause.
This horror film is relatively original in the sense that the scenario mixes madness with Alzheimer's disease and possession. As far as the format is concerned, we are on found footage, a little less original but it goes rather well for this kind of films.
Indeed, we follow a group of students filming the daily life of a patient with Alzheimer's disease, so the director skillfully mixes rational fears due to the disease and those, more primary and irrational, the supernatural. The setting is nice, the discovery of the events is well calibrated, these last ones going crescendo and especially, the actress playing the patient is really excellent.
On the other hand, there are sometimes some dead times, especially at the beginning or towards the middle of the film. These are quickly forgotten thanks to the surprising finale which offers us a few jolts.
Sometimes, we do not understand much and we undergo the camera movements rather unpleasant, but the found footage format forces a little that.
A horror film quite original in content, more classic in form, but still interesting.
If you like horror, this movie will please you because of its original scenario. It is not excellent, but it is easy to watch and quite scary.
