The daily, little-known exploits of a group of scientists, tornado chasers from the Midwest in the USA. Jo Harding, who saw her father swept away by a tornado when she was a child, tirelessly criss-crosses the roads of the Midwest at the head of a small team of meteorologists, adventurers and daredevils, united around a single goal: to observe tornadoes on their chosen terrain.
Twister is a good disaster movie from the 90s, a time when such films weren't synonymous with large-scale special effects, but with a well-crafted script, an interesting soundtrack and quality images.
This film takes us on an adventure alongside a crazy team, ready to do anything to find out more about these mysterious tornadoes. There's a real sense of camaraderie and cooperation between the team members. Following their adventures (and misadventures) is a real pleasure.
The film puts a lot of emphasis on the human side, showing us the damage caused by this kind of natural disaster. This lends credence to the film and to scientific research in the field of meteorology.
The music is perfectly suited to the various scenes and immerses us in the film. Humor is also present and never too much.
A slight disappointment, however, as the screenplay is a classic Hollywood scenario, very predictable, even if it remains at least a little original.
Apart from that, this film is very good, and a favorite for me in the disaster movie genre.
I recommend seeing this film, not for the special effects often expected in disaster movies, but for everything else.
